Incorrect spelling, explanation: superceeded may seem like a word constructed similarly to proceed, but if you look into the etymology, you can see that superseded is based on the Latin word supersedere and proceed on procedere, which shows that the spelling of the English word is quite closely connected to the spelling of the Latin base word.
Correct spelling, explanation: superseded is a word constructed on a base verb supersede and the past-tense suffix -ed, and it’s a regular past-tense creation. Supersede is a word of Latin origin – supersedere, and this is the basis for its spelling.
Definition of superseded:
verb, past tense of supersede
1. to be chosen or positioned or preferred over something else
