Correct spelling, explanation: aren’t is a short form of are not, which is a negative form of the verb to be in the present tenses. It goes together with the pronouns you, we, and they. The short form of the negative aren’t is used much more common than the full form is not.
Definition of aren’t:
verb form – a contraction of are not, which is a verb form of to be,
We aren’t going to school today because it’s Saturday.
Other uses aren’t:
The form aren’t is often used in so-called question tags with am not, e.g.: I’m ready, aren’t I?
Incorrect spelling, explanation: in quick speech, when we say aren’t – the short form of are not – we usually omit the letter -e. That, however, happens only in pronunciation, but some users do the same while spelling the form aren’t, which gives arn’t. It is incorrect so make sure you spell it right.

Correct English would be, “Am I not special?” or “Are they not special?”. Aren’t the special is what is often spoken but like a lot of spoken English it is grammatically incorrect so should never be written this way unless it is a quotation which has quotation marks surrounding the sentence.
Yes it is correct, but please note that aren’t is for plural (are) not singular.
Is something like: “aren’t I special?” Considered proper grammar? It sounds right when you say it, but when you break it down, not so much. “Are not I special?”
It is a pity you do not have a donate feature! We’d certainly press it on such excellent dictionary! I guess for now I’ll stick to bookmarking it.
This is surely right. Thank you for the knowledge.
