So by any logical convention there should be an extra vowel and third syllable for the word to communicate the intended meaning. Disasterous would in fact be the correct spelling if usual conventions were followed, this is why the vast majority of people would first assume it to be spelled as such.
Thank you, we’ve recently been looking for information of all these phrases and this spelling guide appears to be the best we’ve discovered till now.
