I wrote a technical failure report of a part substitution to a “higher-up”. An electrical component that by way of function and design is not compatible. There’s a spell-check on the computer that I don’t too often have to use. I’m afraid that this time I let one get away from me. Just as I hit the send button I’m sure that my eyes must’ve bugged out. There it was. In my face. REFRIDGERATION. Duh! Spell-check ignores all upper-case. My bad! The fact is I know better. But I did it anyway. That “I” know about it really irks me. Refrigerator.
I was reading a children’s book and the author spelled “refrigerator” as “refridgerator”. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a regional spelling or something before writing it off as incorrect. Thank you.
Right here is the just right guide for anyone who wants to find out about English words.
Actually I was not shown this way. Good to know.
