Incorrect spelling, explanation: this spelling is incorrect because the vowel -i and the vowel -e have been swapped. This can be easily seen by looking at the basic word, which is seize, not sieze. We have to remember to be careful when writing down this form. Seized is the only correct version.
Correct spelling, explanation: seized is a past simple form, a past participle form, and an adjective participle of the infinitive to seize. This verb originates from Middle English seisen, sesen, saisen and from Old French seisir. The derivative should be in accordance with its word-formation basis. That’s why we spell this word as seized, not siezed.

What about I before E except after c.
I was taught that, with the English language, where there is an “ie” or “ei” in a word, then the rule was that it was always i before e except after c. So The word receive is spelt as such and the word believe is spelt as such, so why is the word seize spelt as such instead of sieze?
That’s very well compared, I love this dictionary, I’m very grateful.
This is a really good English guide especially to people fresh to English language.
