Hi.
I’m English and received my education during the 70’s.
We were taught that the use of ‘aswell” and ‘as well’ depends on context.
I was born in 30 B.C. (Before Computers) and it was only with the advent of technology such as spell checkers that ‘aswell’ fell out of favour. For some reason such machines would insist on changing ‘aswell’ to ‘as well’ whatever the context. The technology simply wasn’t advanced enough to appreciate changes in meaning due to context and those brought up with such technology now think that ‘aswell’ is poor English. It is not, it is pre-computer English. Some examples: ‘He’s just aswell’ means ‘He is also just.’
‘He’s just as well’ means ‘He is just as healthy’.
‘I’ll do it aswell’ means ‘I’ll do it too’.
‘I’ll do it as well’ means ‘I’ll do it as competently’.
Yes, you are correct, there was a typo there, thank you for your comment!
“contains of” two words?
Surely it either contains two words, or consists of two words?
